Fresh off releases on Method 808 and Future Classic, a collaboration with Chloé Caillet, and an official Fatboy Slim remix, PPJ enter a new chapter with their EP JOKER. The duo — vocalist Páula and producer Povoa (supported by Four Tet, Ben UFO, and Barry Can't Swim) — operates in maximalist mode: playful, sensual, and slightly unhinged.
At the core sits "Coeur," co-produced with Chloé Caillet, blending MPB and bossa nova into a sunset-hued electronic cut. "To Nem Ai" is a deep, downtempo house slow burner, guided by whispered vocals and a hypnotic piano sample.
"Me Pega" reinterprets Santa Catarina's tech-house through the raw energy of Sarro, while "Tem Carnaval" channels Rio's carnival spirit into a euphoric, cinematic ode. "Sexy Doce" fuses electroclash with Filipino Budots and Brazilian baile funk — raw yet futuristic.
With JOKER, PPJ tune into pirate frequencies from Rio to Berlin to Manila, stitching street culture, sensuality, and chaos into something deliriously cohesive. It doesn't just nod to club culture — it twists it.
